Latest Details About P-Square’s November 17 Wedding

On Sunday, November 17, 2013, the most anticipated celebrity traditional wedding between Peter Okoye and Lola Omotayo, will hold at The Arc Events Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.


And according to Encomium, the nuptials is expected to be carnival-like, star-studded,  going by the array of guests already slated to honour the celebrated couple.
While telecommunications giant, Glo boss, Mike Adenuga Jnr. is going to chair the nuptials, gifted comedienne, Helen Paul is no longer going to co-host with fellow comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka.
This is because Helen will be performing at comedian AY’s London show holding that same day.
According to one of the planning committee members:

“Invitations have been sent out, except for few friends who are not in the country at the moment. Apart from the afore-mentioned names, we’re also expecting some other celebrities which I don’t want to mention.”

Although, Peter’s mum passed on a year ago, his father, Mr. Okoye will lead other siblings from their base in Ifite-Dunu, Akwa Village, Anambra State, to Lagos for marriage rites.
Peter, 33, is going to be the first celebrity son of Mr. Okoye to marry. His brother, Paul has already proposed to his babymama and long time girlfriend, Anita Itokwu-Isama, but yet to pick a date.
However, the woman that rocks the life of their elder brother, Jude, 38, is yet to be known, as he has not been linked romantically with any lady.
Meanwhile, there is massive demand for the wedding aso ebi and headgear, otherwise known as gele, that go for N40, 000.
As you read this, we can tell you authoritatively that the demand has soared, but only few were able to get. Those who didn’t get the complete aso ebi have gone for the N5000 headgear.
An inside source said:

“There is no aso-ebi for men, except for family and close friends. However, the groom, Peter has given out free cap (blue) to friends, especially celebrities, who are excluded from the male aso-ebi. By now, they should have gotten theirs, with access card. The access card admits one person and should be brought to the venue.”

The Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj feud is nowhere near over, at least not for the pop super star.
Mariah and Minaj has been long rumored to be feuding with each other but things grew intense when the two assumed judging duties on American Idol.

Apparently the talent show is still a sore point for Mariah Carey because she just compared the experience to being in hell.
Speaking with Angie Martinez on Hot 97, Mariah says she will never go back on Idol.

“I hated it,” Mariah said. “I was lead to believe, because I was the first person signed on. I thought it would be a three person panel. They gave me a nice dangling monetary moment… So I was like Randy Jackson will be there and I’ve known him forver because he use to play bass for me. So i said this isn’t a big deal, but it wasn’t that. It was like hell, going to work everyday in hell with satan.”

Marey Carey then laughed it off and said it didn’t affect her that much. But perhaps she is just trying to avoid some backlash from Nicki Minaj and her barbz.

One of the prominent faces of Yoruba genre of Nollywood, Janet Atayero-Oluseye who got married last year to Olalekan Oluseye has passed away. 
She died at the age of 32 on Wednesday 23th of October, 2013. The member of Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioner (ANTP), Ibadan chapter was with the Ojopagogo movie caucus in Ibadan until her death.
She was said to have complained of pains on her foot and couldn’t walk with it for months and subsequently her health deteriorated even though she was treated in the hospital and some spiritual measures were taken to help her out, she however died and was buried in Lagos, the same day she died.

Chris Brown Allowed Bail + Assault Charge Reduced To Misdemeanour

He always manages to get out of it one way or another. R&B singer, Chris Brown has escaped the clutches of the law again; sources say that he was released a few hours ago with bail and the assault charge has been reduced from a felony, which could have landed him in prison.
He’s also required to stay 100 yards away from the man he allegedly punched in D.C yesterday.
Chris, who has been in custody since the incident, had been ordered to take a drug test, but the judge vacated that order (we already know what the result would have been though).
His bodyguard’s charge was also reduced to a misdemeanor.

US Senator Ted Cruz apologizes for offensive remark about Nigerians

 

On Monday Oct. 21st, US Republican Senator Ted Cruz told a rally that Nigerian email scammers have been hired to run the Obamacare website, a comment that a lot of Nigerians found offensive. After being bombarded with several phone calls from Nigerians in Houston and all across the US, the office of Ted Cruz has issued a statement from the Senator apologizing for what he said.

It’s unfortunate that we’re living in a time where just about every joke can be misconstrued to cause offense to someone.

To the good people of Nigeria - a beautiful nation where my wife lived briefly as the child of missionaries - no offense was intended.

D'Banj Now Desperately Seeking Relevance Through Genevieve Nnaji?

For some time now, the popularity of D'Banj has been going down. Musically, he is no more making statements like he used to do while with Don Jazzy, running their defunct Mohits Records.

Some have even termed songs released after their crash as mere 'noise' as the acclaimed 'Eja Nla', which means 'big fish', has not been able to release songs that can attain one quarter success of 'Oliver Twist', which had the Midas touch of Don Jazzy in it.

In recent times, probably trying to remain relevant, since music has ostensibly failed to do that for him, D'Banj and his media crew may have deployed the tactics of using Genevieve Nnaji to be in the news.

Or how do explain D'Banj coming up again years after to say he wishes to marry Genevieve as a wife. Of course, within him, he and his PR crew know that such will generate arguments, which is aimed at keeping people talking about him.

He knows that anything Genevieve, especially the one that relates to their then rumoured romance, will keep people talking about him.

If D'Banj is really ready to be in the news, let him do good music since he is in G.O.O.D Music, where good songs are done, and not telling us how truly he kissed Genevieve in his music video or how (allegedly) his mum rejected Genevieve as his wife when he presented her to his mum.

Get busy in the studio and stop seeking relevance through the actress looks like he is musically finished. I only hope Kanye West won't be regretting why he signed D'Banj unto his label. God help you D'Banj.
