The Oro, Kwara State born role interpreter deflowered, impregnated and abandoned the mother of his first child and with all the bitterness she could muster, the lady, Sherifat Yusuf, placed a curse on him. A source who is very close to the distraught and devastated lady said that “until Saheed goes to her to plead for forgiveness, he will continue to have issues with his marriages. The hell he went through in Fathia Balogun’s hands is only the beginning. He will go through worse things in the hands of any other woman he decides to replace Fathia with. The only way out is for him to go and beg Sherifat and his daughter and first child, Zainat, whom he abandoned almost 15 years ago.”
Expantiating on Saheed’s love quagmire, the source said, “The sad story dates back over a decade. As a matter of fact, the fruit of the union (Zainat) should be about 13 years or so now. Sherifat was only 22 when they met. She was so innocent and naive. Saheed was older and living with his uncle at the time in Ebute Metta, Lagos. He was Sheri’s first love and also the person that deflowered her. Sheri became pregnant along the line and later had a baby girl. Because Saheed was barely managing to survive then, during the child’s naming ceremony, he contributed nothing. Sheri’s parents (Alhaji and Alhaja Yusuf) who also loved and treated him like a son bore the entire expenses. The same Alhaji and Sheri’s uncle, Bode Yusuf, sponsored Saheed’s first movie. Then, from nowhere, Fathia breezed in from London and scattered everything.
Besides Alhaji and Alhaja Yusuf who were shocked by Saheed’s neglect of their daughter and his child, the actor’s mother, Mrs. Sariyu Balogun and sister, Idiat, were also said to be sympathetic to Sheri’s cause until they too changed. But like the source stated again: “Saheed is owing Sheri, and whether or not he likes it, he must beg her for forgiveness otherwise what he’s going through in the hands of women will continue”.
Sheri, meanwhile, has finally moved on with her life. She’s in love with another man now.
Attempts to speak with him were futile and text message to him on Friday, February 14, 2014 was not attended.

Charly Boy's father, Justice Oputa, in critical condition

 

 

The famous Justice Chukwudifu Oputa (rtd), the father of Charly Boy, is gravely ill at the moment. The former head of the human rights investigation commission, The Oputa Panel, was rushed to the hospital on Friday February 14th where he still lies in bed with partial stroke.

He was rushed from the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, to a specialist hospital in Enugu today. His condition is currently unpredictable and the entire family is hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

Justice Oputa who has been living with his son in Abuja recently traveled to their home town where he fell ill. He will be 90 years old in September this year.

In his earlier reaction, Tuface had claimed that the story is false and that if he impregnated any lady he would be the first to tell the media. On her part, Annie Idibia said those who wrote it want to spoil her happiness. But now that Teniola has finally come out to speak by herself, it’s believed that Tuface may decide go and do the honourable thing then keep quiet and take care of his unborn baby mama as the price of his enjoyment”.
Teniola said she is not for trouble but that Tuface should know that séx without condom leads to pregnancy.

SIM card registration agents across the country are using pictures of goats and foodstuff instead of human beings during the registration process, Efosa Idehen, the Head, Compliance, Monitoring and Enforcement of Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC),  said on Monday.

He said: “It may interest you to know that after the telephone operators might have completed their own part of the registration and forwarded it to us as the regulators; we sometimes find pictures of goats and yams. We also do find pictures of  women with men’s name and vice versa.

“When information got to the NCC that some people were buying SIM cards without their biometrics, it became worrisome to us because the main purpose of SIM card registration was going to be defeated.”

According to Idehen, investigation by the regulator showed that SIM cards that were not registered were  used by criminals like kidnappers.

He added that the pre-activated SIM cards were usually sold at a premium sum of N1,500 as against N100 for the normal ones.

“We have had to sanction GSM operators in the past for not monitoring the activities of their agents,” he said. “Anyone who sells fully activated SIM cards is as guilty as the person who registers the card because they are not supposed to be registered before sale.

“In Osun state, I arrested some teenagers of 13 and 14 years of age, took them to their parents and verbally warned them that what their children were doing would land them in problem.”
Idehen said anyone found with pre-activated SIM cards would be prosecuted and may end up paying a fine of N200,000.

The NCC is mandated to create a credible data base of Nigerians using the GSM.

ASUU Gives Conditions To End Strike - Education

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has given three conditions to be tabled before President Goodluck Jonathan today. If the terms are acceptable to the Federal Government, the union will call off the strike.


The ASUU leadership has banned its local chapters and zonal chairmen from talking to the media until after the session with the President.

ASUU President Dr. Nasir Issa Fagge and other leaders of the union were being expected in Abuja last night.

According to a source, who was part of the ASUU session at Mambayya House in Kano, the conditions are:

•Commitment from the President that any review or reconsideration or renegotiation of the 2009 Agreement will not substantially affect the pact which is the cause of the ongoing strike;

•Immediate payment of all outstanding salary arrears and allowances of varsity teachers without victimization; and

•A written commitment from the President that the Federal Government will commit N225billion annually to the funding of universities for the next four years.

There is a fourth condition, which is said to be “personal” to ASUU, bordering on the need to be wary of gradual loss of public sympathy.

The union leaders were said to have recognised public goodwill for the strike and the need to avert any action that could erode such confidence.

The source said: “Our leaders are meeting with the President on Monday to table these conditions. Once the President accepts these three terms, the strike will be called off.

“In principle, members voted about 60-40 per cent to call off the strike, but they added a caveat – that ASUU leaders should extract a commitment (signed and sealed) from the President.

The union is said to have insisted on the three conditions because during talks with the Federal Government, it was apparent that the government wanted a renegotiation of the 2009 Agreement.

“If ASUU had accepted to renegotiate the entire Agreement , it means there will be no basis for the ongoing strike. The worst that can happen is either having the abridged version of the 2009 Agreement or a phased implementation of the document,” the source added.

The Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State became at the weekend the third institution to break ranks with the striking union.

It asked its students to return to the campus today. Lecture are to start on December 2, according to the Registrar, Mr. Bamidele Olotu.

Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT), Enugu, and the Ibrahim Badamosi University, Lapai, in Niger State had earlier directed the reopening of the schools.

The registrar directed students to begin their registration on the school portal immediately.

AAUA Student Union President Julius Adeniyi welcomed the resumption plan and assured his fellow students of a hitch-free semester.

He said: “We are dying and wasting away our time at home; and I am backing my Vice Chancellor on the resumption date. We are coming in and nothing will happen.

BSU withdraws from ASUU strike

Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, on Monday pulled out of the ongoing strike embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The school authorities took the decision following the failure of the ASUU National Executive Council which met in Kano at the weekend to put to an end to the strike.
A statement issued by the institution’s Registrar, Mr. Sam Egwu, said academic activities will resume in all the university campuses on Tuesday.
The statement said, “Having waited patiently for Federal Government and ASUU to resolve the impasse occasioned by the over four months strike embarked upon by the union to no avail, the management of EBSU on Monday, November 26 resolved to reopen the school.
“We therefore inform all concerned that teaching and learning will begin fully on Tuesday, 26th, November, 2013. This is to enable us cover what we have lost to the strike.”

Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted he is not obsessed with winning the Ballon d'Or for a second time in January despite a series of scintillating performances that have made him the strong favourite to win the award.
Ronaldo scored his fifth hat-trick of the season for club and country against Sweden in midweek to ensure Portugal will travel to next year's World Cup in Brazil and take his tally for the campaign to 31 goals in just 21 appearances.
Fifa's decision to extend the date for votes to be cast for the award from November 15 to November 29 is also expected to weigh heavily in Ronaldo's favour with Barcelona's Lionel Messi, winner of the award for the past four years, sidelined until the end of the year with a hamstring injury.
And the former Manchester United man, who was previously crowned World Player of the Year in 2008, refused to confirm rumours that he was considering not even attending the awards ceremony after reacting angrily to comments Fifa president Sepp Blatter made recently about his demeanour on the field.
"I don't think a lot about the Ballon d'Or. I know that it is handed out in January, but I cannot say that I will not go," he told Spanish radio station COPE.
"I prefer to not say anything because things don't depend solely on me. I am not obsessed with the Ballon d'Or. We will see what happens."
However, worryingly for Madrid's rivals, Ronaldo insisted he is focusing on continuing to improve his staggering return of 225 goals in 216 games since joining the club over four years ago.
"In my head I always think I can improve. My ambition is always to be better. Perhaps you reach a level that is hard to beat, but I always think I can improve in everything.
"The best thing is that, right now, I am better prepared and you could say that I am in one of the best moments of my career. I have demonstrated a very high and good level and I hope to maintain that for the rest of my career."
