In a act of solidarity, young Nigerians from different parts and facets of Nigerian came together in Lagos, Nigeria at the University of Lagos, Akoka, on Thursday to protest against the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The organisation had called an indefinite strike for over 7 weeks, due to the failure of the Federal government to implement an agreement reached by both parties in 2009.
The students on a mission were denied access into the campus as the gates were locked by security operatives as more than 30 riot policemen were stationed at the entrance of the university campus to keep the protest under control.
Students of the University of Lagos, also appealed to ASUU and the FG to resolve their differences on time.
The strike since its commencement, has misplaced millions of Nigerian students and left them without anything to do, initiating an increase in crime rate in the nation.
